INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Reports To: Sales Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: Hourly wage to be discussed

Home Power Systems, LLC (HPS) is a Premier Generac and Kohler dealer in Farmington, New York. HPS is the leading installer of automatic home standby generators in central New York having installed over 2,500 home standby generators and has over 4,500 service and preventative maintenance customers.

Home Power Systems is seeking a reliable individual for the role of an Inside Sales Representative.  Previous sales and electrical experience is required.  The selected individual will assist the Outside Sales Representatives in scheduling, following up and acquiring prospects for standby generator sales in the greater Rochester and Syracuse regions.

Work scope will include, but not limited to:

1.) Answer any inbound sales calls – local and internet.

2.) Scheduling residential site survey appointments for outside sales representatives.

3.) Follow up on unsold generator quotes in support of outside sales representative.

4.) Keeping all sales documents up to date; updating customer database.

5.) Follow up and manage outstanding invoices.

6.) Receptionist fill-in duties covering lunches and vacations.

Qualifications:

Training/Certification:

Successful candidates must have strong sales and electrical background. Must have the ability to learn and work with corporate phone system, Excel spreadsheets and Outlook calendar.  A minimum of One Year experience in a residential service related business is preferred.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Ability/Communication:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as maintenance instructions, scope of work documents and successfully prequalify incoming prospects. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization is crucial.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, taxes and sales for weekly reports.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form with multiple responsibilities and functions at a given time.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel and Internet Explorer.

TECHNICIAN HELPER / TRAINEE

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Field Technicians with generator installations & repairs
  • Staging job materials for upcoming work
  • Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse
  • Running general errands as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of basic tools and ability to use safely
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Experience working on gas engines or electrical wiring a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel & lift 70 + lbs

WORK SCHEDULE / COMPENSATION:

  • Part-time to start, with the possibility of full-time after 90 days
  • 20-30 hours per week between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM
  • $10 – $12 per hour to start depending on experience

PROJECT MANAGER FOR COMMERCIAL POWER SYSTEMS

Commercial Power Systems in Farmington, NY; an established industry leader in central and western New York providing design, sales, installation and service of commercial back-up generators, is currently looking to add another member to our team of generator professionals.

Qualified candidates for the position of Commercial Project Manager should meet the following requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Reviews project specifications and proposals for completeness, format, value and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Assist customers, engineers and contractors with generator integration with existing power systems equipment and components through stages of project development, installation, field start-up, training and on-going customer support.
  • Devise new approaches when necessary to resolve problems and overcome challenges to fulfill project specific requirements.
  • Cost estimation and bid evaluation.
  • Project scheduling and coordination.
  • Oversee the successful installation of new generators as well as provide technical support to assist and participate in maintenance, diagnostic evaluation, and problem resolution of generator equipment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • HS degree a must; advanced schooling in electrical engineering a plus.
  • Generator industry experience is mandatory, including the installation and servicing of commercial rated generators.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office, networks, operating systems and internet communications.

SKILLS:

  • High energy, self-starter capable of initiating, building and sustaining productive relationships.
  • Results driven; taking ownership, sense of urgency, hands-on when and where necessary.

GENERATOR SERVCE TECHNICIAN – LEVEL 1

Reports To: Operations Manager

Home Power Systems is seeking a reliable individual for the installation and maintenance of residential power generation systems.  Previous factory training is a plus, although we will provide training for qualified candidates.  Electrical experience is required. Mechanical and pipe fitting experience is beneficial. The selected individual will assist with installation, and maintenance of backup power systems in our service area. Most work is outdoors. Applicant must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions.

Work scope will include, but not limited to:

  1. Helping senior technician with generator installation
  2. Transporting Generator equipment in company vehicle
  3. Threading and installing gas pipe
  4. Performing scheduled maintenance visits and repairs

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform above duties satisfactorily. Strong electrical background is essential for this position. Basic pipe fitting skills are a plus.
